Random Response & Fatigue in the Frequency Domain

New 2nd generation methods for both random response and fatigue life analysis using frequency domain techniques.

What is CAEfatigue VIBRATION? Many of the traditional restrictions that have previously been imposed on such methods have been relaxed. In this way a solver has been created which significantly expands the application areas where the methods can be used, the ease of use in terms of applying the methods, the size and complexity of models that can be processed, as well as a significant reduction in the associated analysis time. Frequency domain analysis is the method of choice for dynamic analysts and CAEfatigue VIBRATION will act like a turbo charger for such methods. This makes it a valuable new tool for durability estimates on large automotive systems and fatigue life calculations for aerospace systems where mixed random and deterministic loads are specified.

How is CAEfatigue VIBRATION useful to APA users? CAEfatigue VIBRATION is two products in one. Firstly, it is a powerful frequency domain random response post processor (with connections to NVH) and secondly, it is a unique vibration fatigue solver that works with both mixed random (Power Spectral Density) and deterministic loading sources in a way not currently possible with existing products.

As input, the process requires generated stress (transfer function), such as a Nastran OP2 file, as well as a set of analysis instructions given in an input Control File. As output, several file formats may be generated including Patran Neutral, CSV and H3D. Included in the results set are fatigue life and damage plus several forms of response statistics not currently available from any solver today.
