    Altair Activate software is an open & flexible tool for rapidly modeling and simulating multi-disciplinary systems in the form of 1D models (expressed as signal-based or physical block diagrams).  Activate enables product designers, system simulation engineers and control engineers to model, simulate and optimize multi-disciplinary systems to ensure that all design requirements are successfully met while also identifying system level problems early in the design process.

    Coupled with Altair MotionSolve, an integrated multibody solution, enables you to graphically build systems, numerically solve the underlying equations, evaluate system behaviour by examining plots or system animations and improve system performance through design exploration and optimization.  You can import modal representations of finite element models, co-simulate with controls system and 1-D simulators from Activate that contain non-mechanical subsystems etc. At the user interface level, you can create your own GUIs to instantiate systems and subsystems you created. At the solver level you can customize the physics of the model.
