The EFEA method uses energy based primary variables instead of pursuing a displacement based solution as the FEA method does. This results into significant computational efficiency and in using only a small fraction of elements compared to the FEA.

The EFEA solver has been used for noise and vibration analysis of automotive vehicles, aircraft, and in naval applications. It allows to evaluate rapidly the vibration levels and the interior noise in complex systems. Design changes and the use of treatment configurations can be assessed for achieving the desired performance without excessive increase in the weight of the system.
